As soon as I saw this challenge from Paperartsy details here I knew I wanted to make something fun with this old copy of Alice in Wonderland I picked up in a charity shop. As well as the lovely old text pages this has a few illustrations in it as well. I taken one of these as start point for my piece. The queens face really makes me smile - she looks cross but is almost crossed eyed lol
I used a piece of corrugated card as the background as I love the peeled back edges this gives. This was painted with green olives FF paint (not seen in he finished piece at all !) crackled glazed and painted in nougat.
After that I went a bit mad with a spray of this, a hint of that and a splodge of the other as I couldn't get the right colour to tie into my main image.
Got there in the end I think. I've added a grunge paste heart to tie in with the Alice theme, a burlap square and some die cuts. The final touch is a couple of LB flowers with button centres.
