Inspired by Finnabair

The Arty Inklings challenge this month is to create a piece inspired by Finnabair - something I've never attempted before - but will be trying again as it's great fun.

My piece is the cover of a grey board memory book - I've used a number of random mis-matched items ( I so wished I'd taken a before picture) - see if you can spot;

- a bottle top
- 3 purple fabric butterflies
- a nail
- a paperclip
- white and pink flowers
- a watch battery
- red square gems
- the surround to a curtain tie back hook
- a metal flower

Never in a million years would I thought these items would have come together so well.

Thank you for looking and thank you Arty Inklings for the challenge ! (sorry about the colour of the photos - it's so gloomy today I've had a job to take them)

Beach scene inspired by Penny Nuttell

Penny created a wonderful scene using Darcy's flamingo stamps - I've used a similar technique to create a beach hut at the seaside. A few shells from last year's holiday completes the look.

Thank you again Penny for such brilliant ideas x

Stone garden project inspired by Penny Nuttell

If you haven't come Penny before her work is a definite must see - so fun and inspiring you can't help smiling.  I actually found a dry stone yesterday between downpours and this is what I've come up with.  To see Penny's step by step instructions please see here.

I've used JOFY stamps as my background and raised elements - I can see a few more of these "growing" over the next few weeks.

thank you for stopping by...x

CC3 - challenge 2 Distress Glitter

The latest fab challenge from Linda Ledbetter is the use of Distress Glitter (see page 56 in the latest Compendium of Curiosities). Have a peep here at the marvellous GDs projects and entries.  There are wonderful prizes on offer from Tim Holtz and The Funkie Junkie Boutique (click here).

I've made a small hanging using corrugated card painted in PaperArtsy Blood Orange and Tinned Peas paint.  I have edged with gilding wax which unfortunately doesn't show up much in the photos.  This is finished off with a tattered flower and distress glitter leaves.  I don't use a lot of glitter but may be a convert after using this.

C&S card inspired by Keren Baker

Hate to say it but I've had to come in from the garden as I was too hot !

I've had a little cool down and made a quick card inspired by one of Keren's techniques.  See all of Keren's ideas here.  I've gone for bright and summery colours, London Bus, Tango and Blood Orange.

Thank you for looking x

Fabric Art inspired by Keren Baker

I've really loved how Keren has shown us the versatility of one stamp set - I was really liked the cut away effect but didn't have any stamps that would work (well at least with my cutting abilities!). Her third project of stamping onto fabric inspired me to make the little picture below.  This was great fun and reminded me how much I like and miss embroidery and sewing.  Just not enough hours in the day to do all the things I like.

thank you for looking and enjoy the sunshine !

lol - just noticed my reflection in the photos !

Card inspired by Liesbeth Fidder

There's been so many inspiring posts at Paperartsy this week - unfortunately not much time to try any of the techniques.  Just had time for a little card inspired by sewing themed tin by Liesbeth Fidder. I so wanted to try burning a tin but me and fire just do not go !
I love these stamps and don't use then nearly enough so thank you Liesbeth x

CC3C - Paint Marbling

How have I never found these challenges before ? Linda Ledbetter has created a fab challenge based around the latest Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities see here. Every 2 weeks a technique from the book will be selected- some technique based and some product based. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs - the Curiosity Crew's winner will receive a selection of items donated by Tim Holtz himself. Another lucky winner will also receive a $50 certificate from Inspiration Emporium.

This week it's paint marbling - I've gone for a selection of blues and silver. When finished this reminded me of the rain over the last few days so I dug out my umbrella man stamp.  I'm a bit limited on items to use at the moment as the study/craft room is being decorated and all my stash is piled away in various boxes.  Can't wait to put everything back where it should be.
