Hanging Board JOFY Style

I was inspired by the notebooks Jo altered this week for PaperArtsy (see here).  I couldn't find any suitable notebooks in the house so have used similar techniques on a hanging chunky board.  I've used Jo's new limited edition paints (along with a couple of old favouites) and a new stencil (will hopefully treat myself to new stamps soon).

 thank you for looking !

It's a Love Thing...

This is the theme over at the Arty Inklings blog this month (here) -  project have to include stamping and be dimensional.

I purchased these lovely wooden hearts a while go not knowing what I was going to do with them. I gave the tops several coats of Blood Orange and Claret Fresco Finish paints, leaving the edges which already had a bark effect.

I then stamped a heart onto the large heart in clear embossing powder and used bonding powder to stick the gilding flakes. The smaller ones have a heart in mico beads.

All three were then glued to a strip of ribbon to form a hanging decoration.

Treasure Chest

The lovely Julie Ann Lee ( who I had the pleasure of meeting last Sunday x) showed us a wonderful project as GD for PaperArtsy this week.  I didn't have a suitcase to hand so decided to make a treasure chest instead.  I also couldn't wait to use the new JOFY paints either - love the Dusty Teal.

Afraid this is quick post as I'm supposed to be painting the bedroom - not as much fun and no crackle glaze or stamping allowed ! Hopefully my photos show what I've used.

TIO 159 - Letter F & Green

The DragonsDream TIO challenge ( see here) this week is to use letter F and Green - I've gone for flowers for my entry.  The background is stencilled in different shades of green, hopefully this shows up in my photos. The image is from a PaperArtsy stamp set by JOFY and is painted in several fresco finish paints. To finish off I've used a touch of gold around the edge.

Canvas inspired by Sue Carrington

As soon as I saw the door hanger by Sue Carrington on PA (see here) I knew I had to find time to join in this week.  I won the HP 1212 set back in December and have only used them once before so they definitely needed more use. I didn't take a photo of my first back ground, this was supposed to be similar to Sue's but couldn't have been further away. I can confirm PA fresco paints are excellent at covering up mishaps !

In the end I painted my canvas in a Stone/white mix and stamped thimbles and cotton reels in Very Berry.  I then stamped the lace edging from this set onto tissue along with some scissors from another set and stuck them down with matt medium. The black lace looked too harsh so I softened it was a touch of nougat.

I've also added some actual lace, ribbon and frayed cotton material painted with watered down paint to give different textures. The stamped image have been given a touch of colour with DI

Thank you for popping by !
