Arched Doorway

As soon as I saw Sue Carrington's doorway I knew I wanted to make something similar - but as I don't have a die I made a quick template from images in Excel and cut the front and back from a pizza box. I also didn't have a brick mask so improvised again by cutting my own bricks from card. I've used Nougat as the base coat on the front along with Tinned Peas and Hey Pesto. The inside had a base coat of Pansy, crackle glaze and Nougat on top. (I'm officially addicted to crackle glaze - it fab how it works so well every time, unlike other products I've tried). The JOFY flowers were stamped onto tissue and coloured with promarkers before being applied with multi-medium. I had real fun making this project and will try something similar another time - it's a great way to try out techniques and use different stamps.

  5. Sarah it looks fabulous. And I really, really like the idea of cutting out and arranging separate bricks, that a cracking alternative to the stencil! Good plan Stan!

  6. Lovely inspired project, using what you had to hand worked perfectly, great crackle effect. Thanks for joining in our GD challenge this week.

  7. You should give classes! I am so impressed with your ingenuity and wow did you ever make a great card. Now I will have to try some of your techniques. I love your card you smart lady!

    1. Sandy - thank you so much for the lovely comments you've left for me today - they have really brightened up my day. I've nipped over to your blog (love the journal stuff I've seen so far) but I shall return for a better look later x
